1. How would I benefit from ProCell-Stem cell treatment?
While ProCell treatment may not cure spinal cord injury or heart disease, it can substantially improve the quality of life for those treated, and in their words, "more than I had hoped for." Many activities loved before their ilnesses have once again become possible and enjoyable.
2. What is ProCell-stem?
ProCell-stem is "autologous" adult stem cell therapy. That means we use stem cells from your own bone marrow so there is no danger of your body rejecting them. These stem cells are named "MCs" (Mesenchymal Cells). No embryos, fetuses, or animal products are used to make Procell-stem.
3. What types of disease are treatable?
Neurosurgeons use stem cells for repair of neural tissue in adult patients after
spinal cord injuries, after ischemic brain stroke and in some degenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, etc. Similar procedure is done for children suffering from cerebral palsy. Cardiologists and heart surgeons are currently using ProCell-stem to improve the quality of life of patients suffering ischemic heart disease, (or coronary artery disease) cardiomyopathy and heart failure by relieving debilitating symptoms such as severe angina pectoris (severe chest pain) and the incapacitating shortness of breath. Patients who have exhausted treatment options such as coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) or balloon angioplasties are candidates. For patients with other medical conditions that make these conventional procedures too risky and not possible, stem cell therapy may be a viable alternative. So far we have treated 260 patients with neurological (SCI, brain stroke, ALS and cerebral palsy) and 20 patients with ischemic heart disease.
4. Can you describe the treatment?
All procedures are performed by medical professionals at various hospitals. Each procedure starts at the hospital with a medical examination to confirm the applicability of the treatment for the patient. Then, about 500 ml (about a pint) of
bone marrow is taken from the patient’s
hip bone in an operating room with the
use of anesthesia. The collected bone marrow is couriered to our lab under strictly controlled, sterile conditions for processing. After processing, a 5-10 ml
stem cell concentrate and the residue of the bone marrow are transported back to the operating room and applied to the patient.
5. How can I find out if I can be treated now?
The treating neurosurgeon, cardiologist or heart surgeon will review your medical records. Everyone must also take a blood test, which your consultant will arrange for you at a medical choice. If you qualify, the treating physicians will recommend a course of treatment that best fits you. For more information, please contact us online or call us at 359 888 932147 or 359 888 506145.
6. How much does it cost?
