..:: Our Patients ::..
Over 400 procedures with minimal risk and side effects have been made to patients with spinal cord injuries, ischemic brain stroke, cerebral palsy and degenerative disorders of the neuromuscular system. These have resulted in improvement of the sensory and motor functions, sometimes lost for years. Cardiologists and heart surgeons are currently using ProCell-stem to improve the quality of life of patients suffering ischemic heart disease, (or coronary artery disease) cardiomyopathy and heart failure by relieving debilitating symptoms such as severe angina pectoris (severe chest pain) and the incapacitating shortness of breath.
My name is Yordan Nickuliev Marinov from the village of Skravena, Bulgaria. In 2004 I received trauma on the cervical vertebras. Since then I have been completely immobilized. In 2004 I underwent my first surgery of the vertebras. In 2005 I had a second one. In November 2005 I had a transplantation of stem cells in the University Hospital “Aleksandrovska” in Sofia. Before the transplantation I could not move my hands. Now I have an improved sensibility in my hands and as you can see I can already move them upwards. Before the transplantation I could barely move them laterally, now I can do this completely. Now I can move my hands completely backwards. I can scratch, I can move them laterally, stretch them. My personal opinion is that these transplantations should continue to be preformed because they do have a very good effect on people with traumas like me.
My name is Milena Dimitrova Kostova. I am 22 years old. I live in the town of Pernik, Bulgaria. Last year, 2005, I had a transplantation of stem cells and I feel much better since then. I feel much more stable when walking. My waist is more stable, I can crawl. This became possible after the transplantation.
My name is Greta Asparuhova. I am from the town of Montana, Bulgaria and I am 29 years old. After a fall I have received a spinal cord injury. I underwent my first stem cell transplantation on the 27 of July 2005. After the first transplantation I had a lot of improvements despite the fact that my trauma is fifteen years old. I started feeling again my whole back, because my trauma is high in the third thoracic vertebra. I obtained sensibility in my leg and on the back side of my legs. I started standing up. I am stable standing up. In addition, when I do not stand up, I can move my legs laterally and inwards. The muscular mass of my legs considerably increased. Now I do have well shaped legs, contrary to the clothed sticks they used to look like before. I can stress that I have now well shaped legs. Now I can show you how I stand on my legs. That is it. I am standing like this for several hours a day. I can say that the stem cell transplantation is one of the greatest hopes for people with my condition and they have to continue to be preformed. I am sure that after these transplantations soon I will be able to firmly stand on my legs and become independent of the wheel chair.
